Shades of Yellow

‘Yellow’ is definitely the new ‘white’ for spring as it was seen in every designer’s collection. Spring dresses, cocktail outfits or even as detail work, the color was prominent at WLIFW. Wear the trend as a whole color or accessorize your outfit with accessories in color yellow. Try on different shades of yellow like experimenting with brighter ones as daywear and deeper hues in evening wear.

Pop of color

Spring time is not just about wearing lighter shades but adding some brighter colors might just add some more drama to your outfit. Designers showcasing their works at WLIFW created designs which had ‘pop of color’ in form of prints, embellishments, pants, shoes or accessories. Combining pastels with bright colors will be the trend this spring/summer season. You can try combining a pastel color saree with a bright color blouse or a salwar-kameez with a bright color dupatta. These days jewelry with precious as well as semi-precious stones work wonders to brighten any outfit.

Revival of the Lehariya print

‘Lehariya’ a print of horizontal lines created by ‘tie & dye’ process originated from Rajasthan- India. This vibrant print is back in a fashionable way this spring time. It is not just limited to Indian wear anymore but Indian designers have given it a new leash of life by creating an entire western wear collection as well. Wear it as a top, kurti, skirts or even pants. A colorful Lehariya saree, dupatta or Lehenga-choli is definitely a ‘must-have’ in every Indian woman’s wardrobe.

Sheer Fabrics are ‘fit’ for spring/summer

Spring and Summer time definitely calls for fabrics which are breathable and comfortable to bear with the hot climate. Silks, velvets, crepe how so ever might be beautiful, are best suited for cooler weather. WLIFW showed some trends how every woman can work sheer fabrics like net, georgette, chiffons and lace. Try on kurtis with sheer fabric sleeves or a net saree on a heavy embellished choli. Skirts or lehenga with layers of light fabric works amazingly with a corset or a waist length choli.
