Actress Deepika Padukone reminded everyone of the 1950s in this floral detail embellished net saree. The pink color of the saree fused in with light blue color of the blouse made her look gorgeous at this event. Chandelier earrings and golden bangles completed her look for the evening.
Vidya Balan who was nominated in the ‘Best Actress’ category came dressed in a green & golden Kanjeevarem silk saree which are all time favorite saree silhouette with Indian. This trend never goes out of fashion all year round and the ensemble looks best when combined with kundan or gold jewelry.
The lovely Dia Mirza choose ‘Anamika Khanna’ saree which had a very vintage appeal to it. Add in kundan necklace and bangles to make the look ‘oh-so-classy’. Try combining your saree with a long sleeve blouse to get that old world charm.
Priyanka Chopra looked every bit like a Greek Goddess on the red carpet in this ‘Salvatore Ferragamo’ outfit. The beautiful baby blue colour looked amazing on her skintone plus the pulled back updo showed off her décolletage. Priyanka added only a silver clutch to complete her fabulous look.
Karisma Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor opted for ‘Manish Malhotra’ saree. Karisma looked fantastic in this white ‘Chikankari’ detail saree with diamond jewelry and a crystal studded clutch. Kareena went ‘Au-naturel’ in the nude color glittery saree that was combined with a sheer sleeve blouse. The sisters are perfection whenever they grace any star-studded event.
Madhuri Dixit was all smiles on the red carpet in this white-purple saree. Love the fact that the detail work is limited only to the blouse & the hemline of the saree. Madhuri added a traditional necklace and a bangle to glam up her look. It is always to give proper emphasis to one piece of statement-making jewelry than to add in too many jewelry pieces.
Sonali Bendre walked in ‘Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla’ ensemble. The high neck golden blouse was combined with a white saree and a golden clutch. With so much of metal element in this outfit, one can easily skip heavy jewelry just like Sonali did.
‘Lady in Red’ Raveena Tandon sizzled on the red carpet in this ‘Manish Malhotra’ saree. Raveena added a pair of ruby-diamond earrings & ring to attribute to the bling factor. You can get few brocade blouses stitched which you can combine with numerous single color saree – both old & new ones.By Puneet Suri of ‘Indian Fashion Police’ for Borrow it Bindaas
