This week at Borrow It Bindaas we would like to talk about mini trends that work finely behind the scenes to enhance and add that extra oomph dynamic which brings a design from ordinary to extraordinary! Sometimes these trends involve quick tweaks, such as a properly placed belt or a button while others are worth mentioning.

Tassels & Crystals

These are at the top of our list of eastern mini trends. They are fun, playful and can be dressed up with shiny beads; crystals and gold thread for a more traditional and formal apparel; such as a simple tunic, stunning bridals, and luxury lengha cholis. Usually tassels and crystals are added on the upper sleeves for an enhanced effect; however it can be added almost anywhere. Tassels look extremely gorgeous on deep round backs as well! Check out our Dusty Rose Patiala Salwar that has stunning pearls and tassel embellishment in the back:

Crushed Fabric

Crushing fabrics is a classic trend and enables a calmness of style that works with everyday neutrals or to accompany anarkali suits. Just like our Aisha Anarkali which is a salwar fit with silk neck line with jewel touches and crush material!

Lace Sleeves

Judging by the Chanel and Elie Saab Spring couture this season, lace will play a significant role in 2013 as we are mostly struck by the aspect of lace sleeves! Ever since we saw Priyanka Chopra in a Ritu Kumar sari with the finest patterned lace sleeves we were obsessed! The true beauty of lace fabric is unleashed in its sheer and when it is thickened with lining.

Script Tease

This trend isn’t that mini but prints and of course calligraphic prints is definitely a one we love! A trend that is inspired from Masai tribes of Tanzania, Masaba Gupta’s “Straight from my soil” collection using bright colors and printed fabrics have been Bollywood’s favorite. We love how it is a combination of eastern and western!
